Every member is placed on a left–right scale derived from how they actually voted, not from what they say. The measure is DW-NOMINATE, the standard used in political science since the 1980s. Search a name, or type a state to see its delegation.

What this number is

How these are built
  1. Official sources, named and linked

Every figure traces back to a specific government dataset, cited on the page it appears. No estimates, no scraped aggregators, no numbers you can’t check.

  2. Compared like for like

Raw rankings mislead. A corner shop isn’t a supermarket and a 4 kW roof isn’t a 40 kW barn, so every comparison is normalised for size and locality before it’s shown.

  3. Honest about gaps

Where the data is thin, the tool says so instead of inventing a confident answer. Sample sizes and dates are always on screen.

  4. Free, and no sign-up

Public records paid for by the public. Nothing here asks for an account.
